Wynn Yau is an artist, illustrator, and designer based in Toronto
Born in Hong Kong, Wynn was raised in Toronto with a love for drawing as a child. She often found herself lost in the worlds of Robert Munsch and Where's Waldo. She graduated with a BA from the Honours Fine Arts and Business program at the University of Waterloo in 2017.
Upon graduation, she began her career path as a brand designer and consultant, serving clients from a wide range of industries including healthcare, food and beverage, retail, and education.
She also founded her own illustration brand, Inks By Wynn, where she designs fun stickers, apparel, plushies, and other lifestyle goodies. She regularly participates as a vendor at artisan markets and conventions throughout the year.
In December 2020, she adopted her pet hedgehog, Remy, from a local breeder. Since then, he has brought so much joy into her life and became a big inspiration for her artwork, including her original character Remy the Hedgie.
In 2023, she cofounded the CLMBR ARTS MRKT, a seasonal pop-up market that partners with climbing gyms from the Greater Toronto Area to support small businesses and artisans from local climbing communities.
In January 2025, she made the monumental decision to leave her corporate job in consulting to pursue full-time entrepreneurship. In addition to freelance illustration and design work, she extended her creative services to include live doodle portraits for guests at weddings and events. She also began a career in fine arts with a focus on playful acrylic paintings of Remy the Hedgie.
When she's not hustling, she enjoys bouldering, browsing through picture books, crocheting, painting, and of course spying on Remy!
